FACTS AND QUESTIONS
FOR PET OWNERS
PetX is available on both Apple and Android devices and can be found on the Apple App Store or Google Play store.
Download the PetX app and follow the simple steps to set up your account so you may initiate consultation calls to participating veterinarian professionals, and order medications or pet supplies.
There are three types of consultation calls on PetX:
Emergency Calls: This can be used for urgent matters. We will connect you with the first available participating veterinarian professional who might or might not be your primary veterinarian as this is dependent upon their immediate availability as being active on the app. As each participating veterinarian professional establishes the cost of their consultation fee you will be advised of the cost of the consultation call fee prior to connecting the call.
Regular Calls: This can be used for non-urgent matters. We will provide you with a list of available participating veterinarian professionals for you to choose from. As each participating veterinarian professional sets the cost of their consultation fee you will be advised of the cost of the consultation call fee prior to connecting the call.
Booked Calls: This can be used to book appointments for non-urgent matters at a future date and time. You may select from a list of participating veterinarian professionals who have availability on the date and time you wish to have and appointment and with whom you wish to have the appointment. You will receive both an email confirmation as well as push notifications of the appointment time prior to the appointment. The cost of the consultation call will be confirmed at the time of booking the call.
In all of the above consultation call types you will be prompted to authorize a payment hold until the consultation call is complete.
Select the Menu button and you will see My Profile. Then edit the item you would like to change.
Select the Menu icon and you will see My Pets. Then select Add Pet which will allow you to add as many pets as you wish.
Select the Menu icon and you will see Payment. Tap on Payment which will allow you to Add New Card if you would like to change your payment method or remove a payment card.
Select the Menu icon and you will see Contact Us. You may then email support@petx.vet and a member of our Pet Owner Support team will get back to you as soon as possible! You may also go to www.PetX.vet and use the Live Chat option.
Select the Menu icon and you will see Home. Tap on Home and you will see the calling options on the Home screen. Then select Emergency Call or Call Now. Select a participating veterinary professional from the list and add your pet’s symptoms, notes and photos that apply. Then follow the on-screen prompts to make a call. It’s that easy!
All consultation calls are automatically recorded and transcribed. After each call both you and the participating veterinary professional will receive an audio recording and a written transcript of the consultation call via email. PetX will maintain a copy of both with your pet’s records.
If the connection of your consultation call is poor, check that you have a strong signal or that you are on Wi-Fi. While on a call, if there are issues hearing or seeing one another you can also send the veterinarian a chat while the call is connected to let them know you’re having trouble hearing or seeing and request that they call you back. If the call is disconnected before the call is completed and you are unable to reconnect go to Menu and tap on Contact.
In order to use PetX, you will need to make sure PetX has access to your microphone and camera.
Each consultation call will last approximately 15 minutes, during which time our participating veterinary professionals will work to answer all of your concerns.
Petx is a VCPR compliant veterinary professional service. If the consultation is not with your primary veterinary professional, we will contact your primary veterinarian on your behalf and request a prescription for the required medications. Once the prescription is issued it will be shipped to you from the PetX Pet Pharmacy.
Our participating veterinary professionals will work with you to explain which diagnostics are needed and why. They will also provide referrals to local veterinary services based on your pet’s condition.
